This is my ancestor Bruce, to whom I attribute my talent for mutualistic symbiosis.

I'm an astronomer, teacher, writer, playwright, and theatre producer living in New York with my husband Wayne Yeager and warden Sam. My background is science (BA Astrophysics: Columbia U; MS Physics: University of CA at San Diego.) Currently I teach astronomy at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and Lehman College of the City University of New York.

Wayne and I co-founded the non-profit Reality Aside Theatre in 2007, and have produced about twenty plays in midtown Manhattan. We tour a science-themed comedy show called Spin 1/2.

A recent battle with an intracranial tumor has fueled my plans to return to graduate school. I will study methods to increase the science literacy of the general public, via the performing arts. I am particularly interested in studying medical patients as audiences. I also just finished a memoir recounting my own medical adventure: You Are Here - Memoir of a Head Reassembly in Two Acts.
